The Felix Project helps children and families who face hunger year-round, by rescuing nutritious surplus food and delivering it for free. This half term, we'll supply holiday programmes with our food, as well as local charities, food banks, and London’s emergency hubs.
“ We would see a lot more hungry children if food deliveries from Felix stopped ”, Haringey Play Association
Holiday hunger is what children face when schools close for summer and they can no longer get free school meals. For families who are struggling, school meals can be a real life-saver. We work with 100s of schools, youth organisations and holiday programmes in London to make sure that our good food reaches families in need.
Surplus food is the extra food that exists in our food supply. This food is nutritious and good quality - it includes veggies, fruits, meat, dairy and fish. The Felix Project takes this food from wholesalers, supermarkets and restaurants. We sort it at our London depos and then deliver it to the schools and charities serving the most vulnerable in our communities.
We are proud to keep a high spend efficiency. 84p in every £1 you give spent in preventing food waste and delivering surplus food to charities feeding vulnerable people in London.
