A team from Venture Studio, Accenture Song decided to take part in a unique challenge event across the Isle of Wight, raising funds as well as raising awareness.
“In 2024 we supported The Felix Project by organising a hike and cycle around the Isle of Wight for twenty-five members of our team. In the lead up to the event we ran over ten fundraising events to raise awareness on the good work done to tackle food poverty in the city where we all live. We were all thrilled to be able to collectively raise £10,283,66 to help our fellow Londoners”.
Ezra decided to take on an incredible challenge - 25,000 push ups. And whilst pushing himself he raised £1,025 over 2 months. We call him Epic Ezra!
“I chose the Felix Project because their mission to fight hunger and food waste aligns deeply with my values. By supporting them, I was able to make a meaningful impact, while pushing myself to complete this epic challenge”.
Kat & Paul got married in July 2024, and whilst they planned their special day, they decided to make a difference. In lieu of gifts, they asked their wedding guests to choose three charities to receive donations.
“We were very conscious that a significant number of our fellow Londoner’s were struggling for food as we planned our Wedding Day feast. Instead of Wedding Gifts we asked for donations to The Felix Project raising enough for over 2,000 meals. It felt great to have spread the love so much further.”
Raewyn is a Green Scheme volunteer, and it was on one of her walks around London helping The Felix Project that she decided to go the extra mile and get creative.
“It was from walking on the streets of central London on Felix’s Green Scheme that inspired me to do a ceramic project linking Charles Booth’s 1889 Poverty maps to the inequalities today.
I made twelve plates titled ‘Poverty in the Midst of Plenty’ which the LSE Library purchased. I donated £500 of the sale to the Felix Project.”
Meet Jacob, an eight-year-old boy from Greenwich, who decided to hold a bake sale on his driveway after hearing about Felix in his Cubs group. Jacob, his mum and his grandma all got involved and baked over fifty cookies and a selection of cakes to sell to their friends and neighbours on his trike.
“I really liked how they stopped food being thrown away and helped people, and I wondered if I could raise money for them.”
