The rising cost of food this year has meant 1 in 4 working Londoners now struggle to afford to feed their family – leading to a huge increase in demand for food support. We now have over 600 community organisations on our waiting list. Now more than ever, we need your help. That’s why we’ve launched our Empty Plate Emergency Appeal to raise enough to fill 1.2 million empty plates this winter.
“ We get fresh produce. It’s like it’s off the farm because the quality of the food is so good and so fresh! ”, Resident , Housing for Women
“ There is great camaraderie in the team and whether I'm out in the van as a co-driver or helping in the warehouse, I finish my shift with a smile on my face. ”, Volunteer
“ There’s no reason for children to be starving or going hungry with the amount of surplus food that’s out there. ”, Children with Voices in Hackney
“ It’s extremely moving to see a line of people down the street waiting for your arrival. The food is quite extraordinary - stuff I hanker for when I go to the supermarket. Really exceptional fish and extraordinary cuts of meat. ”
“ At Ocado Retail, we’re so proud to support The Felix Project which is one of our key charity partners. In 2022, we donated the equivalent of 1 million meals in surplus food items and almost £1 million in cash. The funds went towards various projects such as refurbishing the Enfield depot and purchasing five electric vans with charging points. ”
