Our Green Scheme offer involves a group of volunteers ‘owning’ one of our Green Scheme routes for a period of time (minimum term is 3 months), committing to filling one shift per week with 1 or 2 volunteers. Green Scheme is an A to B collection and delivery service, offering a range of walking/cycling volunteer shifts in Central London and Canary Wharf. Most shifts are 1-2 hours in duration. For more information, please contact [email protected]
We receive many requests from companies to volunteer as part of employee engagement and CSR initiatives. While this interest and support is hugely appreciated, we run a 'partner first' process when booking groups. This means our strategic partners get priority bookings followed by our corporate supporters. Any remaining shifts in the volunteer rota are then offered to our wider mailing list of non-partner companies and groups.
Our partners and suppliers are also exempt from the donations we recommend for our group volunteering opportunities.
If you think we could be a good match for your organisation, you can request to register as a group lead and be the main touch point for your organisation’s volunteering, or sign up to our group volunteering mailing list to hear about new opportunities.
We request that payment is made within a week of receiving the invoice. Felix reserves the right to restrict an organisation’s ability to book further shifts if this is delayed.
We will work on a three-strike rule: should your group or organisation receive charges due to any of the points above more than three times in a 12-month period, the company and employees will not be able to book groups to volunteer in the future. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Cancellations can have a detrimental impact on our operations; without sufficient volunteers, we simply cannot rescue and deliver enough food to the organisations that rely on us. Therefore, we ask groups to stay committed to their shift date and the number of spaces requested. Please keep this in mind when booking your volunteer dates.
Every hour spent volunteering in our depots equates to 200 meals for those who need them.
We strongly suggest that group organisers consider creating a waiting list for a shift to backfill any drop-outs, avoiding the charity and its beneficiaries being let down at the last minute.
We request that payment is made within a week of receiving the invoice. Felix reserves the right to restrict an organisation’s ability to book further shifts if this is delayed.
Should your organisation act against this policy on multiple occasions, we will consider blocking your organisation from booking future group volunteer shifts with Felix.
Due to the nature of what we do at The Felix Project, all volunteers are required to be present for the health and safety briefing at the start of the shift. Being late or missing this briefing will mean those volunteers may NOT be allowed to volunteer.
The shift timings are set based on the support needed in each part of the operation. It’s incredibly detrimental to the charity’s ability to fulfil its commitment of getting food to the community when volunteers start late or leave early, so these requests will not be facilitated. If you have team members who cannot commit to the timings of the shift, please do not ask them to sign up.
We can accommodate any group size between one and 15, depending on the location.
We can accommodate photographers and small film crews with prior notice. Before agreeing to host, please let us know how many people will be attending, what equipment they will be bringing, and what time they will be coming. We request that any filming or photography take place towards the end of the shift and be as brief as possible. You must not capture images of non-group members without prior consent.
We prioritise our partners for bookings, followed by corporate supporters and then non-partner companies on our mailing list.
If you want to explore impactful partnership opportunities with The Felix Project which comes with priority access to volunteering opportunities, contact [email protected] for more information.
We aim to confirm dates as soon as possible and provide detailed volunteer briefs at least two weeks before the volunteer day.
We require the names and email addresses of all volunteers for communication purposes. Virtual training is mandatory and must be completed in advance.
We provide and require specific PPE depending on the volunteer role. Please contact us if you have specific concerns.
We simply couldn't do what we do without the support of volunteers - we're grateful for your contributions!
