The Felix Project wins colleague vote to become Citi’s London Charity Partner

The Felix Project is delighted to announce it has been chosen by Citi London colleagues to be its London Charity Partner for 2025-2026.

The partnership will run for two years and is focused on supporting the new South London depot and the ambition to double supply and provide 64 million meals across London annually.

Citi London colleagues will support Felix’s mission to see a London where no good food goes to waste and no-one goes hungry. Colleagues will volunteer at the depots and participate in a range of fundraising and awareness-raising activities.

Tiina Lee, Citi UK CEO, said: ““We are excited to be supporting The Felix Project as our London Charity Partner for the next two years. Citi London colleagues have seen first-hand the great work the charity does to prevent surplus food from going to waste and instead, get it to people in need. The new partnership builds on what has already been achieved through the Citi Foundation’s Global Innovation Challenge grant, and will provide more ways for Citi colleagues to support our local community and raise funds to support The Felix Project’s critical work.”

The Felix Project is grateful to have previously received support through The Citi Foundation. In August 2024, The Felix Project became one of only two UK organisations to receive a grant from the Citi Foundation as part of the first $25M Global Innovation Challenge.

That money is being used to fund the pilot Farm to Freezer project, which focuses on offering an alternative way for farmers to utilise their surplus and fix a serious issue within the supply chain. As part of that work a team of colleagues visited a farm in Kent to help rescue apples that would otherwise have gone to waste.

Will Savage, Head of Corporate Partnerships at The Felix Project said: “We were thrilled when the global Citi Foundation recognised our innovative approach to rescuing food from UK farms and helped us – alongside other funders – get this project off the ground. Now we are delighted to have Citi London support our South London depot rescuing food from across the food sector and delivering it to organisations working hard to feed people. With 1 in 4 Londoners regularly struggling to afford to feed their families and the ongoing cost of living squeeze showing no signs improving, our work is more vital than ever and we are looking forward to working closely with Citi London to raise as much as possible over the next two years.”
