How to become a volunteer?

The first step is receiving all the necessary information.

You can either

  • attend an online info session with one of our volunteer managers to learn more and ask any questions you might have
  • come in for an in person info session and a taster shift to see if you enjoy it
  • get an email pack with all the info and training you need

How would you like to proceed?

Book your online info session to get started

Info sessions are conducted online via a Teams video call, so you can attend on your phone, tablet or computer from the comfort of your own home. The session will take just 20 minutes and cover what we do, why we do it and how you can get involved. Once you register, you will receive an email with a link to your session within an hour. If you don't receive it, please check your spam folder or contact our volunteer team at [email protected]

I first heard about The Felix Project a few years ago, and was shocked at some of the statistics around food waste. So when my husband and I moved to Enfield last year, we signed up to help. We were motivated to help a cause we felt passionate about, and thought it would be a great way to meet people in our new local community.

Sophie , Enfield Volunteer

When I saw the ad in the Evening Standard late last summer I immediately knew this was the kind of volunteering I wanted to get involved in. The wonderful food we pick up is far too precious to be thrown away, and so it makes sense to distribute to different charities. So rewarding - can’t get better than that!

Thérèse Diffey , Volunteer

What I didn't know was how much food surplus was generated by the food industry. It amazes me the quality of the food that The Felix Project rescues for people in need.

Tim, Felix volunteer

It’s extremely moving to see a line of people down the street waiting for your arrival. The food is quite extraordinary - stuff I hanker for when I go to the supermarket. Really exceptional fish and extraordinary cuts of meat.

Julia, Felix volunteer
